SUNDAYS FOR CHILDREN
NURSERY
We want to make your child’s first experience here a positive one! Sunday visitors should come to the main nursery Welcome Desk (Room E002) so that we can meet your child.
You will be given a pager so that we can page you if your child needs you. Simply return to the nursery after the services and turn in the pager to check out your child.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call or e-mail Melissa Wilson, Minister to Children at (704) 873-7231 or melissa@statesvillefbc.org. Melissa is also available for Nursery/ Preschool Area tours by appointment.
SUNDAY SCHOOL
At First Baptist Church we have classes for every child where they can learn about God’s love. We begin Sunday School in the Nursery with a brief Bible Story.
In the Preschool & Kindergarten class, we read a story, color a picture, play games, and enjoy a snack.
In the 1st, 2nd, & 3rd grade class, children learn how to use their Bibles and read their lessons directly from the Bible. They also enjoy a snack and other activities that help them better understand God’s word.
The 4th & 5th-grade class digs deeply into the Bible to learn how to study God’s Word. They have exciting games and great discussion as they try to apply the teachings of the Bible to their daily lives.
KIDS AT WORSHIP
We believe that it is important for families to worship together, but we also realize that young children need to be active and engaged in age-appropriate activities. Kids at Worship is our solution. Children come to worship with their families and are dismissed to Kids at Worship at the appropriate time. During Kids at Worship, the Bible passage is tied to the Sunday School lesson so that we can delve deeper into God’s word. The kids also share prayer concerns, do crafts, and build relationships with each other. The Kids at Worship room is located near the elevator, children will only be released to a parent. Kids at Worship is offered during the worship service for children ages 3 years to third grade. One Sunday of each month all children will stay in the service with their parents to participate in Family Worship.
